This week; Damien Gillis is a Vancouver-based documentary filmmaker and co-creator of the new environmental and social justice website, TheCanadian.org. He's spent the last several years campaigning to put an end to the Atlantic Salmon fish farming enterprises widely believed to be behind the disappearance of wild Pacific Salmon on the coast.

Gilad Atzmon is an accomplished jazz and pop musician, whose music has been internationally recognized, earning him among other honours, the BBC album of the year for his release, 'Exile.' His latest album is, 'In Loving Memory of America.’ Gilad is also a writer of fiction, and a political and philosophical essayist. His novels, 'Guide to the Perplexed' and 'My One And Only Love' have been translated into 24 languages. Atzmon is an ex-patriot Israeli, and veteran IDF soldier, whose writing about the ongoing occupation of Palestine, and the nature of the forces behind that occupation has earned him both praise and condemnation.

This week: Stephen Harper, the twisted progeny of Trickle Down governance theory is now determined to follow the lead of his Republican brethren in America and make of this Canada a slave state, replete with corporate prisons, rolling over the rim with marijuana inmates and three strike, mandatory minimum sentence losers. One of the more troubling events evidencing this is the Conservative effort to destroy the prison farm programs, a signally successful model of rehabilitory incarceration.
