From the mainstage at the 3rd annual Vegtoria held July 20th 2019 in Victoria BC, on the unceded traditional lands of the Coast Salish Peoples, Amy Soranno spoke about her personal journey with chronic illness and her fight for animal liberation since becoming vegan in 2014. Amy works with Okanagan Animal Save organizing and facilitating slaughterhouse vigils, she participates in underground investigations and rescues, and she does street outreach with Anonymous for the Voiceless
. Most recently, Amy was arrested during a “Meat the Victims” action which exposed inhumane conditions inside the Excelsior Hog Farm in Abbotsford BC. This action was documented, including video taken inside the hog farm, at The Intercept.
