Gorilla Radio with Chris Cook, Diana Beresford-Kroeger, Jon Elmer, Janine Bandcroft May 31, 2010

Diana Beresford-Kroeger a botanist, medical biochemist, and expert on the medicinal, environmental, and nutritional properties of trees. She is also the author of ‘Arboretum America,’ ‘A Garden for Life,’ and her latest is ‘The Global Forest.’

Diana Beresford-Kroeger in the first half.

Over the weekend, the Free Gaza Flotilla attempted again to penetrate the illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip by the Israeli military. Several attempts to get aid into Gaza by sea have been made over the last two years, but all were violently intercepted. This time, nine ships began the odyssey, but it seems none have made it through. Victoria-based human rights activist Kevin Neish was on board one of the ships, and we had arranged to discuss events live as they unfold, but as of writing all contact has been lost. Jon Elmer is a Canadian journalist and photo-journalist based in Bethlehem.

Jon Elmer and the fate of the Free Gaza Flotilla in the second half.

And; Victoria Street Newz publisher and CFUV broadcaster Janine Bandcroft will be here at the bottom of the hour to keep us apprised of newz from Victoria streets. But first, Diana Beresford-Kroeger and a human need to get back to the forest.
